The Transit of the Buffalo

Framed among Detroit's buildings, the Buffalo steams southward in an icy river. In the foreground: the 1920's Art-deco masterpiece Guardian Building; to the right: the 1960's modern Michigan Consolidated Gas Building which once featured "The-Top-Of-The-Flame" restaurant; to the left: the 1980's post-modern Renaisance Center central tower. In the distance, the streets of Windsor, Ontario give way to Canada's "sun-belt" farming district.

The Buffalo was involved in a marine disaster in September, 1990.
