I looked in the gallery and saw a pretty big whaler crowd on blake a couple years back. is that an annual thing? |

crx722, I am guessing there are 20 to 30 of us around the Sound. In the 6 years I have been a member, there has been 3 Puget Sound rendezvous to my recollection. I have only attended one and there was not one last year. We're slackers. John |

Hi, folks. I'm still here, browsing every few days even though I sold my pristine '85 15' SS last year. You can take the man out of the Whaler, but you can't take the Whaler out of the man (with appologies to Salem/RJR and whomever else). And as my clssic British car club says, 'ownership is not a requirement of membership' (although I do own a classic British car). I might consider attending by sailboat or car, if the welcome mat is put out. HNY, |

Can I be an honorary member? I used to live there and you never know, I might come back. I used to sail with my friend Andy out of UofW Yacht Club - fun. If I come back I will bring the OR 17 for sure. |

I spend quite a bit of time out on the water in the summer in the PNW. We keep the Whaler on Lake Washington and the C-Dory in the San Juans, so I spend time in both those places but not much elsewhere. The C-Dory owners group has been much more successful than the Boston Whaler group at organizing gatherings. I've never been to any for either brand, but the Friday Harbor gathering for C-Dory's normally has around 40 boats I'm told. There are several more gatherings every year for C-Dory owners in the PNW and many more elsewhere. I think the biggest reason why C-Dory gatherings have been more successful than Whaler gatherings, at least in the PNW, is the ability to sleep aboard. Normally C-Dory gatherings are a weekend event, with people sleeping on their boats and everyone cooking a dish to take to dinner. This kind of event really isn't possible on most of our Whalers. |

C Dory owners, as a group, are the greatest people on the water. They have as much fun as people on million dollar yachts. Check out their C Brat website. |

I would be interested to learn more about any spring or summer gathering now that I am now a proud owner of a 3rd child (1981 Montauk) |

It seems to me that Blake Island is a centrally located, pleasant spot. Maybe we should just pic a Saturday in June and give it a try...the 19th? |

Another North Puget sounder, do not count me as Seattle. I am more of a fresh water boater right now BW Harpoon 5.2 meter sailing dingy used without mast for trout and some salmon fishing. I hail from Marysville, these days. Am currently in the market for something in the 18-25 ft range. My wife wants to go fast (my boat is too slow) and wants to tow toys. Have looked at a 22 Outrage cuddy with many-many issues, a 22 ft Temptation that had multiple issues, and am currently eyeing an 18 Ft rage as a possibility more for the wifes fun than my fishing. Just joined the BW club Monday as I picked up a 1997 Dauntless 13, my first boat. I live in Mukilteo and look forward to getting out on the water. |
