Re: Converting Sport 15 to Center Console

Perhaps "trip hazard" was too strong of a description. How about annoying?

Re: Converting Sport 15 to Center Console

The [modified Boston Whaler] 13 [boat that was seen on another website and does not appear in this thread] showed the cables coming out the bow side of the center console instead of coming out the stern side. The cables go under the forward thwart seat to the starboard gunwale and then back to stern...

Re: Center Console 15

Duane, Doing nothing or almost nothing is often a excellent option and is still on the table. I do like your hinged console. Thanks for the description of how you did it. JimH, I like that riser better too. My woodworking skills are about on par with my mechanical skills so I don't think that I coul...

Re: Center Console 15

Jimh & porthole, Thank you for your replies. I tend to obsessively think things through before I do them. Raising my console will take me months of thinking and research. I'm not very handy with tools and such so I try to make up for it by being slow and careful. I want to raise the console so I...

Re: Quick question

The site "Whaler Central" has the plans for 13' super sport wood http://whalercentral.com/downloads.php?cat_id=13&rowstart=0 . I believe that you will have to register as a Whaler Central user to access the plans. If I remember correctly, the interior of the 13' and the 15' were the sa...

Center Console 15

I am considering raising the center console on my new-to-me 1986 Center Console 15. It might be helpful to know how much was cut down in the fiberglass center console from the Montauk.

Re: 2001 16 Dauntless

I had a 2003 Dauntless 160 with a 115hp Mercury 4 Stroke. It was a great boat. Previously I had a 1986 18' Outrage. I think that the Outrage was a better boat and was a better boat in the extremes. But the Dauntless is a great boat, If you got caught in horrible weather, I would rather be in the Out...

Chuck Tribolet's website

Every now and then I go through my bookmarks and delete some old ones that don't work or I'm no longer interested in. I ran across a bookmark for Chuck Tribolet's Boston Whaler Black Dog website. I clicked on the link and it came up. I was surprised but maybe Admiral Linda is paying for the hosting....

Re: Towing with a Subaru Outback

Not to be a smart ass, but if you are worried about stopping a trailer without brakes, why don't you just add brakes to the trailer?

Classic Whalers, Repurposed

While surfing for Whaler stuff, I ran across "Classic Whalers, Repurposed," an article not necessary fascinating but it is interesting.
