Re: Circumnavigating Kiawah Island

[In response to a recent post that was really just SPAM from a Pakistan IP-address that has been deleted.]
What a strange choice of forum, thread, and method for spam.
[Yes, but at least it revived a very interesting thread--jimh.]

Re: Circumnavigating Kiawah Island

Thanks to all for the info . I had my Montauk in the Kiawah River this summer, but didn't have my bottom machine on the boat so I didn't try going through the flats. I will definitely give a try some other time. What about this year? I saw this post and decided to make the loop again this Sunday be...

Re: Circumnavigating Kiawah Island

How much water did you show in the "flats" area? The NOAA chart for that area (http://www.charts.noaa.gov/BookletChart/AtlanticCoastBookletCharts.htm, #11522) makes it look pretty scary! I'll have to take a look at my chartplotter this weekend and see if it has logged that data, but from ...

Re: Circumnavigating Kiawah Island

A little update - I made this loop a couple of times this summer in my 25 Revenge Cuddy. It's still a little tricky, but pretty simple overall. Wow, did you run Capt Sam's in the 25 Revenge? Yep, I was actually near there on Labor Day too. You'd be surprised, a 25' with twins has a deceptively shal...

Russel,

I'm interested, but I can't access your email address in your profile. Would you mind emailing me at lpbjr.mick at gmail.com?

Thanks!

Re: For Sale - Outrage 25 - stainless transom brace - $100

I was just wondering if you've posted any pictures of your bracket installation? It's a modification I'd like to undertake, but am having a hard time justifying the expense.

Thanks!

WTB - Reversible Pilot Seat

Preferably within the Southeast. Condition isn't a problem.

Re: 15-footer with Surface Propeller Running

Wait, what?! I always thought a Whaler shootout would be admirable. I used to pitch that idea to anyone who'd listen. Do you have a link? My boat is just a bare hull right now. It fell into disrepair while I was overseas, and when I came back motorcycle and old truck projects held most of my attenti...

Daaaang. That one's a looker. Almost made me go look in the back yard to make sure mine's still under the tarp.

Re: Circumnavigating Kiawah Island

A Kiawah circumnavigation is entirely possible in a Montauk. I've done it in an 18' Outrage and a number of times in a 15'. My route usually takes me out Stono Inlet, hug Kiawah in the Atlantic, shoot Captain Sam's Inlet, follow the creek until you travel under the bridge leading to Kiawah Island, a...
