Re: Bow Rail Rod Holders
I should clarify that the holder angle was changed for a trolling application from the bow of my 13 and not static fishing...

Re: Bow Rail Rod Holders
I agree. However, I had a buddy that didn't like the particular angle that I did. I (probably foolishly) allowed him to loosen the holder and adjust to where he liked it. If you don't loosen enough before rotating, it will likely leave a scratch. The rubber between the two surfaces prevents the scra...

c 1970 13 SPORT Bow Splash Guard
Hi--This may seem silly, but I am wondering if anyone here has fabricated (or considered) fabricating a splash and wave guard for the bow section [of a c.1970 Boston Whaler SPORT 13 boat] to allow for a drier cockpit in larger waves? My 13-footer has the shorter rail set that terminates on either si...

Re: Bow Rail Rod Holders
Hi,
I mounted similar ones to the top rail with a small piece of bicycle tubing arounf the rail. This allows the rod holder to be mounted tight enough and also to be able to spin it around the rail for optimum angle without scratching up the rail.

Re: Painting over TotalProtect Epoxy Barrier Coat Primer
I'm a little late replying, but I am just finishing up the exact process you are/were doing. I used WetEdge with great results. Just make sure the amine blush is thoroughly washed off with soap and water and apply really thin coats with ample dry time in between.

Re: Pre 1971 13 foot Sport Norman Pin Replacement
After drilling a 3/8 hole for inspection, it appears that there should indeed be wood sandwiched between the fiber glass in this area. The old pin looks to have been torn out at some point. My idea now is to use a hole saw to drill out a larger section. Then epoxy any gaps and voids on the inside. I...

Pre 1971 13 foot Sport Norman Pin Replacement
Hi, I am new to this forum and was unable to find the answer using the search function. I just purchased my first Whaler - a pre-1971 13 foot Sport. The Norman pin is missing, and the area it should be is glassed over. Is there a resource for locating the appropriate position to drill the pin hole? ...
