Re: 13' control cable length loop or no loop?
Thanks. The steering cable would attach to the tilt tube. The throttle and shift cables enter the motor from the front while they're coming to the motor from the side. The loop creates a straight path into the front of the motor compared to a sharp 90-degree bend.

13-Footer: Remote Control Cable: Loop or No Loop
Hello everyone. In the process of restoring my [1969--please use four-digits for year] 13 STANDARD to a SUPER SPORT, I do not have original [remote control mechanical] cables. 20170122_152752.jpg Everything that I have read on the forum state that most people are using 8-foot-long throttle and shift...

Re: Looking For a Boat
As far as boating options go nearby: I live just north of you in Tulsa. Surprisingly enough, Oklahoma has more shoreline than the East Coast and Gulf Coast combined. There are lots of great lakes to explore with your boys in a small trailerable boat. I've spent a ton of time on Possum Kingdom, two-h...

Re: Re-do SPORT 13
Nice idea on the transom. I was considering having a small sheet of stainless cut and attached with 5200 to keep the motor from digging into the fiberglass on the aft side. The front side has a plate for the screw clamps. I have taped off my stenciled Hull number as well to save it. Thought about ha...

Re: Re-do SPORT 13
Interesting on the stainless... Been thinking about a keel guard for mine of some sort. Bought the same paint today myself. Nice to see a photo. Was really thinking about rolling and tipping. Have neve used an actual spray gun and am nervous to learn how to on this project. Already have a decent com...

1969 13-foot Repairs
Hello all, I need some advice. I got the little Whaler home from its 750 mile round-trip to pick up this past weekend. It's been stripped down, and I've been doing some wet sanding to eliminate as much gel coat crazing as possible. In the big scheme of things, it's in excellent shape. Not a single a...

1969 Classic 13 New Owner
Hello everyone. I've been lurking on this site for several days learning everything that I can about the classic 13 Boston Whaler boat. Literally reading until 2 or 3 a.m. every night, driving my wife nuts--but there is SO much great information out there to soak up! Love these little boats! I have ...
