18 Dauntless Suzuki 140

I recently acquired a 1999 18 Dauntless. I have purchased a SUZUKI 140. What is the correct propeller to purchase?

I may buy a 14 x 20, a 14 x 21, or maybe a 14 x 22.

Re: Trailer Modifications

How wide are the bunk? Are the bunks made out of PT 4x6? I removed from trailer the bunks and cut 1-inch off the top. I ran in on a table saw. I replaced the 1-inch of removed wood with 1-inch KING StarBoard. I counter sunk galavznized stove bolts about halfway. Bolted them all the way through the b...

[The risk that a friend will put a cooler on the lamp and then sit on the cooler] is why I mount [a navigation lamp] to my engine cowling, I never have to take off [the navigation lamp], it is out of the way, and it is always connected. Re: 1985 Evinrude 40-HP Won't Start

Check the spark first. You stated you replaced the fuel line. Is the primer bulb OMC? Only use an OMC primer bulb. And do you have it going in the correct direction? Check the fuel flow by disconnecting the fuel line at the engine) and pumping the bulb. Have a catch bucket ready. Two people would be...

Re: Propeller Locks - Worth It?

If they want it, they will take it, instead of purchasing the lock, I would just remove the prop each time, not a big deal. And stored in your garage will make it harder to steal.

Re: Why was the boat I bought so dirty?

The problem [of a boat getting dirty or getting mildew is a result of] where and how the boat is stored, and what kind of environment it is in. I am in south Florida. If you cover your boat it gets too hot inside to [a temperature that] can screw up your electronics; if [the boat is] left open the r...

Hello, I started a thread last month, " Life Jacket Attachments" some of you I hope you learned something, some after a while the thread was side tracked to some jokes. I can understand this and can take it with a grain of salt, but tell me how many of you have actually been on a sinking b...

Life Jackets Attachments

I hope everyone here carries at least one life jacket per person. Do you attach anything else to your life jackets?

Each one of my ski-type jackets has attached to it a light, a knife, a whistle, and a compass. I figure if you were to fall over at night the light would really be nice to have.

Make sure the kit is complete; make sure that you do not have to purchasing anything else once you get started. I have an older 16'7" Whaler, I run an old 140hp Evinrude Looper for power, I have never had any concern with the insurance (when I had it) or with the marine patrol/law. Sounds like I have a lot of power, however down here in south fla Im consider slow. It is now the norm to see three or four ...

Re: Trailer and Fuel Tank for 13-foot Boston Whaler

The 13 whaler is a light boat, get any alum float on type trailer should be just fine, as far as fuel tanks I would have one custom built out of .125 alum to your specs., These are the best fuel tanks hands down and will last you a life time.

Re: 9-footer Value; Horsepower Needed

Do not bother with the Boston Whaler 9-foot boat. It is unstable and only holds about 450-lbs. I had a 4-HP on one and it was okay, but because of ethanol the [carburetor] jet would get blocked all the time. I sold the 4-HP [and] got an 8-HP. The the boat would porpoise all the time and was unsafe. ...
