Re: Finally did it! Towing Advice
This is all good advice but before towing it any distance, check the grease and the bearings to make sure both are in good condition. There is plenty of advice online on how to do this but if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, any competent mechanic can do it for you. You might want to consid...

c.1970 Outrage 19 Ride
How does the ride of the 17-foot hull and the 1970's Outrage 19 compare? BACKSTORY: I am looking for a Boston Whaler boat for quick fishing trips. I am not looking for a pristine example but one with a dry hull and reliable power. I was originally going to buy another old style 15-footer--I've had o...

Re: Using Teak or Faux Teak to Re-Cover Deck
I am also in the U.K. And have experience with the eva foam [you are] referring to and have posted pics on Everything Boston Whaler. There is a firm selling it from the Channel Islands which-- if you do decide to go with it--will save time on postage and got away without import tax. Any idea of the...

Re: Wood Stain for Old Console
Thanks for these suggestions and the console is built primarily out of plywood, which looks like it has the mahogany veneer. I do plan on finishing it with varnish once its completely prepped - and I have decided on/experimented with stains in an inconspicuous place.

Wood Stain for Old Console
I have an original 16-foot console and have stripped off and sanded off all the old varnish. I've also been able to remove some of the mildew stains, as well, but, given the age of the console, it should not be surprising that the now unfinished wood has a very uneven surface color. I was thinking a...
