What happened to the console?

I do understand the Montauk is by far the more popular model of the two. I was just wondering what the physical difference was other than the side console. It appears that is the only difference.

I don't understand your comment on the Montauk costing less in the long run. If I understand it correctly, the basic difference between the two boats is the console. How can one console be more expensive to maintain over the other?

I've been looking at a couple boats in the 17 to 20-foot range and ran across a 17 Striper. Besides the side console, the Striper seems to be the same hull as a 17 Montauk. Is this correct? Thanks--Bill

I'm trying to find a super console for an 80's vintage 22' Outrage. If the boats attached to it, that could OK too.
