Re: Fall Boating Snowbird Migration Underway
Mine isn't a yacht or cruiser but we tow our 13-foot Boston Whaler to southwest Florida from Ohio every year. We leave Ohio on New Years Eve and return on March first. Our boat is in our back yard on a canal and I enjoy fishing around the mangroves. I travel Interstate 75 frequently. At this time of...

Re: Generic Trailerable Cover for Katama 16
Phil T's comments are right on the money. The cover must fit tight. If it flaps in the road wind it will wear itself out. I use two fiberglass bows across the rails to provide a tent effect, I have 6 ties under the boat from side to side with bungee straps. Pool noodles are great for cutting to size...

Look at a Carver cover.
I have a 13-footer with a Carver cover made to fit my boat. I've made four round trips, Ohio to Florida, with the cover on.
The cover is in very good condition—save for the road dirt.

We have our 13' Boston Whaler on a galvanized trailer with torsion axles. The trailer is very quiet as some have noted. So I like the torsion flex axle from a noise standpoint. e_dig, the key to a good fitting cover that will survive the elements is to support it in a tent like fashion so that the water runs off and does not puddle, and to draw the cover tight so the wind does not cause it to flutter.
