Re: Hydrofoil recommendation for 13
I have a 13 Dauntless with a Yamaha F50. I tried lots of different propellers and also changed the engine mounting to get rid of [a tendency for the bow to oscillate up and down when on plane], but nothing helped. [The 13 DAUNTLESS] would still bang and was slow to plane. This summer I bolted-on an ...

Re: 11-footer v. 13-footer as Dinghy
I have a 13 DAUNTLESS that I use as a dinghy with a Carver Mariner 350. It's a great boat and tows easily behind the Carver. Is your slip that tight? Can you tie you boat so the platform is a little outside the dock fingers? I'm spoiled as I rent a floating PWC dock for a few hundred a year that is ...

Jerry Sienfeld's Whaler
Doesn't look like this has been posted before. It's an episode of Comedians in cars getting coffee and it features Jerry's 13 foot classic. Looks like the are in the bays in Eastern LI. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkv0KgCouJI

1995 13 DAUNTLESS Mooring Cover Source
I'm having a heck of a time finding a mooring cover for a 1995 13 DAUNTLESS with bow rails and windshield. I've checked Amazon and eBay, and GOOGLE, but can't find it.
Anyone know of a source? Thanks if you do.
I have just bought a second Dauntless and soon will be selling the first.

Re: 2004 150 SPORT Propeller Refit
What kind of performance are you getting with the current prop? Rpm at Wot? How long to plane? Can you see the A/V plate when you are on plane?

Re: 1998 Dauntless 13 Engine Mounting Height; Propeller
I watched your recording. It looks like you were having fun and the boat is running quite well. Be careful boating alone on a lake in early Spring. There won't be any other boats around to rescue you if you get into trouble. Thanks for the explanation about the tach. I'll try some different setting...

Re: 1998 Dauntless 13 Engine Mounting Height; Propeller
Well, I'm getting closer. Thanks to all the suggestions. After messing around with the throttle cable, I realized that it's unlikely to have stretched as it pushes the throttle rather than pulling it. I noticed that the roller on the throttle shaft wasn't contacting the throttle cam. I tried to loos...

1998 Dauntless 13 Engine Mounting Height; Propeller
I bought [a 1998 Dauntless 13 ] last winter and took it out for a shakedown cruise yesterday. It has a Yamaha 40-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine. I've got a few concerns to sort out. The Yamaha 40-HP outboard engine is mounted all the way down and the A-V plate is buried. I assume I want [the A-V p...
