Unless you hit a rock, the hub may be fine. If it takes off OK on a fast start I'd be tempted to leave it alone. You may have ingested some mud, so keep an eye out for cooling system problems.

A 13-footer is not hard to find. To find a 13-foot Boston Whaler with a dud motor and a trashed interior and swap your stuff over would be much easier and likely also to produce a better result.

Check for leaks in all the fuel lines to which you have access. If you don't see any, have the fuel tank pressure tested. Chances are it's nothing - if gasoline were really getting out, the smell would be strong. But better to be safe.

Do you have a tiller extension? I suspect you'll need to get your weight well forward to plane off. Obviously the condition of the bottom will be a factor, as will having the right prop on the motor.

I don't expect you'd be able to spin a 17-pitch. I would recommend starting with a PowerTech SCD-3 in a 15-pitch - I think you'll find it really makes your setup come alive. You had a big load in that little boat. To reduce the size of the wake you'd need to reduce the load, slow down, or speed up to get fully up on plane. Any time you're plowing along, trying to go faster but not really planing, you're making a huge wake - not to mention straining your motor.
