Fuel tanks are foamed into place in a recess that is finished and gel coated. While there may be some fuel in the foam, it will not reach the hull.

Since Boston Whaler has removed the parts and wood backing diagrams from the website for the earlier years, I would contact Boston Whaler Customer Service and ask them for the wood backing diagrams for your year and model.

If the boat is on a trailer, you can use the existing fuel line to drain a under floor tank. You just need a primer bulb at the end of a fuel line to get a syphon started.

I ran the fuel through a water separator filter and used it in my snowblower and mower. Don't run it in a automobile.

Ten years of boating in the off season by myself in Maine has taught me that you should never skimp on safety equipment. If money is tight, invest in a good waterproof hand held VHF. Acknowledge that you will need to wear it on your person every time you are on the boat. Just like your life jacket.

Don't forget motor mounting height [as a cause of high steering force]. If the motor is mounted on the transom in its lowest position, it can affect steering.

The motor is mounted all the way down, I would raise it 2 holes. You will gain approximately 125 rpm for each hole you go up due to less drag.

Raising the motor is doable as a DIY with basic tools if the boat is on the trailer and you have a friend to help.

There is a big difference between under the waterline and above. Use Marine Tex repair kit and use the boat.

No cracking or damage.

Warning - The non-skid gets clogged with ice making the deck very slippery. Falling on a cold deck hurts more than when warm. This was one of the reasons I covered the entire deck with Dri-Dek.
