Hi folks. [I am considering the choice] between twin four-cylinder 200-HP Yamaha engines or a single 5.3L 350-HP Yamaha on a new boat purchase. If you don't mind me asking, what is that non-skid flooring material you have in the cockpit? Looks like a great option to deal with older models not showing the deck very well.

I have a Outrage 19. I troll with a Mercury 4-HP FOURSTROKE. At low RPM I troll at 2-MPH. I can easily reach 5 MPH at a reasonable cruise RPM. I've had to limp home on [the 4-HP engine], and it wasn't a big deal. I believe [the Mercury 4-HP FOURSTROKE] weighs 70 lbs--but that is a 2001 model.

We replaced our c.1980 70-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine with the Yamaha F60 and couldn't be happier. The F60 just purrs and burns very little fuel. As always with proper outboard performance, the propeller is all-important, as is mounting height. I'll try to check what propeller I have.

I'm in the Pacific Northwest's San Juan Islands. We have a low bank water access property. We have a 14-foot daysailor that we keep on a buoy but like to have on trailer as it's not quite sea worthy to leave at buoy without monitoring weather and web cam. That is a very good point, and the 15' Dauntless I brokered for a buddy is a great boat. I do not believe it has an in-hull fuel tank, but possibly under the center console; better freeboard and stability. One thing I didn't mention about the classic 15 is its tippy-ness.
