When running solo I get to about 5,000 RPM with 75% fuel and no gear/ice,etc. This is trimmed out as I normally would - spray just behind me at the console. Speed is taken via GPS and verified with my iphone navionics appl. When I bought the boat I would get 5400rpm and 45mph. Same load as described...

I have a 1986 Outrage 22 with a 2000 Optimax 225. The engine can't accelerate to more than 5,000-RPM. I would really appreciate input from the forum; I'm stumped and hoping someone can help me out.
