Re: SPORT 15 Best Helm Steering System
[W]hile a pain to fill [and] bleed, I’m actually thinking the [hydraulic] rigging will be cleaner since the lines are flexible and can wrap inside the [transom] corner. It seems the [No-Feed-Back or NFB] will feel more sporty since it can be purchased in three-turns lock-to-lock. I love the feel of ...

SPORT 15 Best Helm Steering System
I’m thinking [the best steering for a SPORT 15 will be the TeleFlex model] 3.0 No Feed Back or NFB.
I could be swayed to Baystar. [The SPORT 15 engine is a Yamaha] F70.
[Do readers have] any recommendations?
Is a 10-foot-long cable best for the mechanical systems?

Re: 15 Whaler Super Sport Project
D - I am following you on multiple forums. Hard to miss your project! Sorry, I was not clear in my last question but your picture answered my question. the backrest assembly in the supper sport interior provides strength. My interior is raised but does not have the supper sport back rest so I’m thin...

Re: 15 Whaler Super Sport Project
Amazing work! With the raised claimps did you ever consider adding a support bt the gunwale and clamps? I’m putting my seat on top of a 5 inch clamp and am thinking of developing a starboard block that would go on the outside of the clamp to help keep the rigging neat and prevent any side to side mo...

Sapele and Mahogany Lumber Source, Uses
Are there any downsides to Sapele as an alternative to Mahogany? I'm having a hard time finding a supplier for mahogany in Charleston, South Carolina. Also, if given the chance would you build all components like the console, benches, and clamps with true 1-inch lumber as opposed to 3/4-inch? Thanks

1976 SPORT 15: moving all-round lamp to starboard
My 1976 15 sport has the [white all-round pole lamp] and associated wiring block on the port side. All my rigging is on the starboard side so there is not good place to climb in and out of the boat and the wiring looks sloppy. I'd like to move the [white all-round pole lamp] and [combined sidelights...

Re: Best Seating Arrangement for 15-footer
Does anyone find the storage box in the supper sport useful in its original form? It seems most use it to hide the gas tank and rigging. It does as a nice look, but not sure if it will look funny with sport rails and bow light.

Re: 15' SSL Re-power E-TEC 60
I would not worry about the maint hours on a F70. There is a bolt on the outside of the engine to drain the oil. Process takes less than 30 min.
If you run the engine some during the winter, no worries with fogging.
Either way you go, I'm sure you will have fun.

Best Seating Arrangement for 15-footer
What is you preferred set-up for a 15? I have a 1976 15 sport that currently has a starboard side console and cooler seat. I like the comfort of the current set up but want to go back to mahogany for the classic look. I'm between the 40th anniversary set up done by specialty marine or a custom job. ...

Re: 1976 SPORT 15 with F70
Great info! Engine goes on Tuesday and I'm very excited to put new life in this boat. The [transom] is strong. It has minimal cracking for a 40 year old boat. I was just thinking the transom saver could be a good thing. I bought a generic version not the [Springfield Marine Transom TUFF'NER] because...

1976 SPORT 15 with F70
I'm re-powering a 1976 SPORT 15 with a F70. Should I add a [Springfield Marine "Transom TUFF'NER"] or plate of some sort?
Also, in what bolt hole [should the engine be mounted] to optimize performance?
