Re: 1989 WJ Mills Bimini Top install instructions.
I now know my top folds within the rails. Also, all 5 eye straps are installed. The only thing I am missing are the (2) Chrome Side Mount Hinge w/screws. The holes for these are already in place at 45º on both port and starboard sides - per the instructions from WJ Mills. I just need the parts. Does...

Re: 1976 Montauk Fair Price
Yeah. Sorry about the mixed images. I ended up going with the newer 1989 w/1989 90hp Merc. Overall great shape although the outboard is not performing up to specs. I intend to Repower at some point. I thought it was smarter to go with a hull that he 13 less years on it. Came with original unused Bim...

Filling Screw Holes in Console for Re-use
Hey all, I have some screws that have stripped out on the console; they were holding [escutcheon] plates around gauges.
How can I fill these holes and re-install screws?
[Is there] any solution for dealing with screw holes in console that have been stripped and need to be reused? Thanks, Steve

1989 Mercury 90 Only Reaches 4,000-RPM
Today I had a chance to get out my 1989 Mercury 90-HP. The maximum RPM was 4,000 and boat speed was 25-MPH. It was windy and choppy. [Later more information is provided. The recommended wide-open-throttle engine speed for this 1989 Mercury 90-HP is said to be 5000 to 5500-RPM, the boat is a Montauk ...

Re: Top Speed?1989 Montauk w/1989 Mercury 90 HP
Thanks. Was that WOT? I guess what I really want to know is how much does speed increase from 75% throttle to 100%? Is it possible that 20mph at 75% throttle could increase to 35+mph at WOT? (90hp and Montauk)
Sorry didn't somehow I missed the WOT part - thanks!

When I asked a seller what speeds he achieved WOT, he replied :"per the operating instructions , the throttle is only advanced to 75% of max rpm. At that, it's about 20 mph." Does that sound right? And is he saying I can only get 75% or is it fixed to only go 75%? I would expect top speed ...
