Re: 17 Montauk with Honda 4 Stroke 90HP

I run a 2000 Montauk with a Honda 100-HP engine. The Honda engine weighs considerably less than the original Mercury 75-HP FOURSTROKE. The boat handles very well, no [problems with] trim.

Re: NYC to Quebec via Hudson River

Paul, we could have passed each other on Day 4. I was testing out the new outboard on the Montauk, just North of Coeymans, where you took the picture of the blue steel beam on the barge. That steel is for the new Tappan Zee Bridge. Sorry I did not see your post earlier. Looks like you are doing OK on...

Keep my Montauk there for a couple of weeks each Summer. Remember the speed limit in the canal system-- I believe it is 5 MPH. The Hudson needs a coupl...

Repowered 2000 17 Montauk

Been a while since I have visited this site. Thank you, Jim, for all your effort over the years. I recently repowered my 2000 17 Montauk. The original motor was a 75 Mercury 4-stroke. I had nothing but problems with that motor. Most were my fault (ignorance) and were ethanol related (in conjunction ...
