Re: Problem with changing lower unit oil on Mercury outboard

What was the condition of the oil you drained? If emulsified with water it can thicken up and leave a gooey residue inside the gear case which would keep all of it from draining out. Otherwise the only thing else I could suggest is to run it again and drain and refill. Maybe you need to tilt the eng...

Re: Price difference between Suzuki and Yamaha

I wasn't aware of the substantial price difference. Between the two you listed. my choice would be the Suzuki at near 30-lbs lighter and around a grand cheaper.

Re: Consider Yamaha F70

Did you consider the F70 Yamaha at 257-lbs? That would be my choice.

Re: How to read reinforcement diagram

The 4.5" X 8" dimensions refer to the length and width of the underlying Whaler board. The whaler board is 3/8" thick and it is recommended to drill and tap for fasteners used. What isn't clear to me is exactly how to locate these pieces using reference dimensions. Seems if you choose...

Re: 2010 Montauk 170 Moeller 22 Install help

Sorry to hear your dilemma. Fortunately, in my case, the factory fuel line install under the seat exits the deck at the extreme starboard front corner under the seat base. Re: Dauntless 15 Fuel Tank Upgrade

D-rings are stitched onto one end of the strap aft. They are residing just over the near tank recess in the pic.

Here's a different angle

Dauntless 15 Fuel Tank Upgrade

Recently, [on a DAUNTLESS 15] I upgraded to a Moeller 22-gallon, topside, white, non-EPA fuel tank with continuous venting [KELCH-brand] cap; the prior tank was a 12-gallon Moeller. I chose the 22-gallon tank instead of the 18-gallon tank to prevent having to modify the seat base in order to clear t...
