Re: Used my anchor once. Got it stuck.

Get an anchor ball set up. You can pretty much always break an anchor free with this setup. I've used them in shallow water with really rocky bottom (tautog fishing in CT) and deep water (100 feet) when the current is cranking. youtube has videos but basic discussion can be found via this link. You ...

Re: Capsize At Mavericks

The entire video is worth watching but the capsize is around the 7 minute mark. For a Long Island Sound guy this is mind boggling.

Re: 2018 170 Montauk for Long Island Sound Angling

Thanks for the input on the 190. A 190 or 210 would make more sense. I was somewhat intrigued by the 170 Anniversary Edition. Agreed on the fact that its likely a bit too small. And you are correct it would be in a slip versus on the trailer. One of the dangers of boat shopping on a computer during the winter. Once you move out of the Western Sound sea conditions become much more sporty. Thanks for the response. Jack

2018 170 Montauk for Long Island Sound Angling

The backstory: I always loved the look of a Boston Whaler Montauk. I presently have a 20-foot Maritime Skiff. It's been a great boat, but I'm looking for my last boat. I'm very much into inshore fishing in Long Island Sound out of Westbrook, Connecticut. A typical trip for me is to run to the middle...
