Re: 2011 Mercury 90 Multiple Run Problems
Sorry Jim—I must have missed your question. Yes, I have been running standard fuel that contains 10% ethanol. Looks like I am having to re-visit the running problems that began this thread. I haven't really had a chance to use the boat until now. I started the [Mercury 90 FOURSTROKE EFI engine] in t...

Engine Speed Drops When Trim is Operated
[On a 2011 Mercury 90-HP EFI FOURSTROKE fuel injected engine] the engine speed decreases when the engine trim is operated. I think this is a new problem. Watch the video clips below [if you want to see and hear how the engine speed decreases when the TRIM is operated]. [In the presentations the engi...

Re: 2011 Mercury 90 Multiple Run Problems
The low pressure fuel filter [in Figure 2 below] is on the left. The low pressure side pulls [fuel] from the fuel tank and into the [FUEL SUPPLY MODULE]. The low pressure filter [is filled with] approximately 65-percent air, and the fuel is in the bottom half of the filter. Is [the low pressure filt...

2011 Mercury 90 Multiple Run Problems
For the past two days I've had multiple symptoms [of poor engine running in a 2001 Mercury 90-HP engine of unspecified power cycle], but I am unsure if these symptoms are a result of a single cause. I'll try to explain. I hope someone can point me in the direction or a remedy. [The 2011 Mercury 90-H...

Re: Corroded Mercury Outboard Tiller Arm
Guys, thanks for the advice. Based on some of the comments here and others online, I think I may pass on purchasing this one. The boat itself is in pretty good condition, but I think that the motor may have been neglected. It's an 07 and the owner never changed out the water pump. I don't think the ...

Re: Corroded Mercury Outboard Tiller Arm
Thanks for the info. I should have specified, this is on a 2007 Mercury 115-HP EFI FOURSTROKE on a 19-feet-long Montauk. You are referring to it as an Outboard Tiller Arm but from the info that I am finding online, looks like it is called the Swivel Pin Assembly. The part that is rusted would be the...

Corroded Mercury Outboard Tiller Arm
I am in the market for a boat for my family and have found a great looking 19-foot Montauk. I am not looking for a project, but don't mind a little bit of work. Everything looks good except for some excessive corrosion on the [engine tiller arm]. From what I've read online, this is common on Mercury...
