Re: 1994 OUTRAGE 24 250-HP
A late reply: I run a Yamaha 250 Ox66 two-stroke-power-cycle engine on my 1994 24 Outrage. I run two different propeller: a three-bladed Yamaha SWS stainless steel 19-pitch, and a three-bladed Mercury MIRAGE plus 17-pitch. With Tom Clark’s help we ran several tests at different engine heights. We fo...

Re: 1994 OUTRAGE 21 Deck Plates and Hatches
I looked back at my notes and found Viking Marine as the supplier of deck plates on the mid 90's Whalers. Not sure if they are still available or not.

Re: 1994 OUTRAGE 21 Deck Plates and Hatches
Pretty sure the 1994 deck plates aren’t Beckson as they are not pry-out design. The 1994 has a toggle handle design in the deck plates. Definitely not Desert Tan but white hull with Pantone gray deck and interior in 1994 so the deck plates were white in color.

Re: Replacing fuel tank in 1995 24 Outrage
Archie--I agree [with your decision to reduce the fuel tank volume to 110-gallons on your 24 OUTRAGE when you replaced the fuel tank]. I rarely have occasion to use all the range provided by the full-tank volume of fuel on my 24 OUTRAGE boat. I am glad to see you’ve gotten everything buttoned-up, an...

Re: Replacing fuel tank in 1995 24 Outrage
Good to see you were successful in replacing your tank and nice job. Why did you opt to go with a smaller 110-gallon fuel tank compared to the 195-gallon original fuel tank? I also have a 24 Outrage, and I often wonder about fuel tank replacement. When and how do you realize the 24 OUTRAGE fuel tank...

Re: 1996 OUTRAGE 24 Ride and Stability
PJ--To answer your questions: --unfortunately the boat is stored for the winter and located off-site and I have no pictures available. --I built a platform that extends the level of the bow storage hatches all the way to the forward edge of the center consol. It is basically 8 inches tall, 18 inches...

Re: 1996 OUTRAGE 24 Ride and Stability
Fuel tank is welded aluminum. The 24 Outrage has a swamped capacity of 8,500 lb, only eclipsed by the 27 Offshore of the same era. You can tell by spending hours in the boat, in varying condintions that the boat has a lot of foam in it. 3-4 people standing on the same side and the boat barely lists....

Re: 1996 OUTRAGE 24 Ride and Stability
To add regarding fuel tank. It is not in its own cavity. The rear of the fuel tank is open to the rear bilge. No water to get blocked in the cavity. My boat's fuel tank stays super dry, and each winter I open all of the deck plates to afford good ventilation. To replace the tank wouldn't be the wors...

Re: 1996 OUTRAGE 24 Ride and Stability
Having owned a 1994 24 Outrage for 15 years I can assure you a single 250-HP engine is plenty of power. Full fuel, a Tee-top, a four-stroke kicker engine, and a weeks worth of camping gear still afford good performance, 32 to 34-nautical-miles-per-hour (39-MPH). It's a great hull in many conditions,...
