For owners of c.1988 Montauk 17 boats: where [is the boat battery located]?

I was told at my boat dealer that it's traditional to put the battery inside the console on a Montauk 17.

I doubt that.

Where would you store life jackets?

That's not how I bought the boat

Any thoughts?

My old teak doors have finally bitten the dust on my 1988 Montauk.

Where can I go to replace them? I'd almost like to replace them with fiberglass - starboard or whatever the white ones are.
