Re: 1982 OUTRAGE 18 Anchor Locker Drain

That can work. The finder PU is on the the other side. About how long is the tube? I just placed an order for the calm shell. I made a tube a few days ago. Its going to rain this weekend so it could be a good time to work on the boat! Do you have a pic of the outside? I need to drain and clear the lo...

1982 OUTRAGE 18 Anchor Locker Drain

My [1982 OUTRAGE 18] boat does not have a drain. The locker fills up in the rain when on the trailer. I need to add [a drain to the anchor locker of an OUTRAGE 18]. How long is the drain tube? [Seeks a image that will show the location of the anchor locker drain in a 1982 OUTRAGE 18 both from the in...

Re: Keeping Dashboard Panel and Gauges Watertight

I rehabilitated an OUTRAGE 18 in 2018. The first time it rained water ran down the inside of the instrument panel. The solution was to back out the mounting screws and run a bead of silicon around the top and sides of the panel. The silicon will provide a good seal and keep the water out, but it has ...

Outrage Engine Mounting Height; Performance

[An 1982 OUTRAGE of unspecified length powered by a Honda 150-HP Outboard] has an aluminum propeller.

What is the proper engine mounting height?

What is the expected performance?

The hull may be damp.

Re: Outrage Deck Repair

Well been there--now is too soon to tell how it will work out. I patched my boat with epoxy and chopped mat. Start by cleaning everything. Key [to the process] is to paint with epoxy, slap on a chopped mat, cover it with PE sheet, then some foam and wood to hold it all in until it sets up. [My repai...

That was the original set up on my 17 ft boat. I have updated to a Kodiak tank with better results.

Re: Fuel Tank Replacement and Re-rigging Project

Looks good. I just went through that on my vintage Outrage. I did not replace the foam, it seemed dry so I just cleaned it. The main concern is poor design, on the Outrage. With an Outrage, if there is water on the front deck, you are likely to end up with water on the top of the tank. If your bilge...

Re: Outrage 18 Bait System

The 17 has a larger tank, a Kodiac 20 maybe, There is a 800cfm pump and a check valve. It works great for 1/2 a scoop. I have a slightly larger tank for the 18 its a 24 gal or so. Same pump but I have not installed the tank. The outrage is not online yet. I'm currently ringing out the wiring. There ...

Re: Rinsing Fuel Tank Top

I have a 18 Outrage and another boat. I have had [problems with the fuel tank] with both. The OUTRAGE 18 had a failed tank when I got it. Both tanks failed due to corrosion from the outside, and this is largely due to saltwater trapped between the foam and the tank. On the Outrage, the [cause of fai...

Re: Outrage 77-gallon Fuel Tank Dimensions

It's not that simple. I have just done the tank on my 83 Outrage. The tank and locker are a complex shape. There is not a lot of room for error. The shop that built my replacement tank resulted in a tank that is about 1/2 " skinnier about 3/4" short and about 1/2" taller. Yep after I ...

Re: 1986 Outrage 18 Fibreglass Repair

Here are a few options. You can repair buy adding some some wood and epoxy. You can use epoxy wood an polyurethane foam. You may try to use just epoxy that has been thickened with ground glass or some combo of the above. All of that should work fine. The problem is the finish. Epoxy does not play we...

Outrage 18 Bait System

It looks like I am a few weeks away from putting together a bait system for my Outrage 18 .

Show me what you are running and how it's plumbed.

This may be more of a West Coast thing. We fish live bait in our waters.

You need to start by grinding that section to see how extensive the the cracking is. Make sure you use protective gear while grinding.

Re: Inner Hull Foam Repair

I have recently done a similar repair on my Qutrage. My OUTRAGE boat was in poor shape when I got it, and [its soft deck] was a major concern. I had not read of anyone doing this repair [other] than with epoxy. Here is how [my repair was] done: --purchase two part polyurethane kit (4lb foam). --purc...
