I did a speed run [using my 1984 OUTRAGE 25 with twin 150-HP Mercury FOURSTROKE engines] on the lake earlier this week. I have the same 17-pitch REVOLUTION4 propellers as were on my prior Optimax 150-HP twin engine. The gearing is slightly lower at 1.92:1 on the FOURSTROKE engines compared to 1.8:1 ...

Re: 1983 Outrage 25 Installing Leaning Post

I installed a leaning post on my 1984 Outrage 25. Odds are good yours is the same construction on the tank cover. Look under the deck at a fuel access port. In mine, that area has about 1.25" of plywood built up beneath the fiberglass. If you use a screw, you don't want to penetrate the bottom ...

I get questions sporadically about the Turboswing on our 1984 Outrage 25. I just got back from a week at a lake where we used it a lot. Re: 1984 Outrage 25 with bracket - twin engine Evinrude G2 options

After more reflection and study, I decided to order Fourstroke Mercury 150s. Reasons for that choice. 1. Power from the Fourstroke 150 should be roughly comparable to Opti 150 based on published reports, which is adequate 2. Weight of Fourstroke 150 is only slightly heavier than Optimax 150. 3. Can ...

A more articulate description of the jumper is found at

http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/019894.html

Testing the tank and sensor can be tricky, so using a jumper avoids that - if the jumper fixes it, it is either the sensor or the tank. Replacing the tank fixes both.

If the under-cowling oil tank is staying full, you could try jumpering that tank wiring connectors and seeing if that resolved the alarm. If so, the under-cowling oil tank sensor has failed. I'd think you should measure zero resistance if the sensor worked right, or nearly zero - 0.3 sounds like a b...
