Well, I just sold my third and last Boston Whaler boat, and I am down to my big Grady. I just wanted to say thanks to JIMH and all the other folks on this board who have been incredibly helpful over the past 15 years. Fair winds, and maybe I'll be back someday.

Interesting - for some reason I assumed [my 1996 20 Dauntless] had an aluminum tank. I'll have to look at it more closely through the inspection hatches.

The manufacturer of my other boat, Grady-White, recommends periodically opening the access hatches and rinsing the top of the fuel tank to prevent salt build-up and resulting corrosion. Do any readers [periodically rinse the top of their Boston Whaler boat fuel tank]?

Funny you should ask. I'm going to raise my motor by at least one-hole this season, because I get pretty bad torque steer. I'm told that is often an indication that the engine mounting is too low. I highly recommend that you sea-trial different hulls in fairly rough conditions before purchasing. I had a 1999 28 Conquest (later known as the 295 Conquest) and I was never happy with its ride in a head sea.
