150 MONTAUK 60-HP Aluminum Propeller

Hello. I have a 2010 15’ Montauk with a Mercury 60-HP FOURSTROKE with the original VENGEANCE 14-pitch propeller, Mercury part number 48-17314. I am happy with the performance from that propeller, but I would like to purchase an aluminum propeller [because] the boat will be kept at a summer house on ...

Re: 2010 Montauk 150 Weights

Thanks for all the replies. I have decided that it is not the best idea to use the cx7. I am going to look into another highlander or the 2019 RAV4 adventure has a tow limit of 3500lbs which would be sufficient for the 150 Montauk. The only concern is it is so new Toyota/Curtis/U-Haul don’t have tra...

Re: 2010 Montauk 150 boat+trailer weight?

Thanks. I’m thinking to the local ramp I should be fine as long as I take it really slow. When we take the boat on vacation over the summer, I guess I can rent a larger SUV to tow it. I suppose a rental car for for a week is cheaper than a three year lease.

Thanks.

Re: 2010 Montauk 150 boat+trailer weight?

Thanks Dutchman. Sounds like we have the same set-up. The Mazda is owned but I am still not looking to beat up on it; it is a daily driver.

Also I am not looking for another lease payment just to tow a boat. I guess I am back to the drawing board.

The joys of boat ownership never cease to stop.

2010 Montauk 150 Weights

Hello--I do not have access to a highway road scale. What is the weight of a Montauk 150 boat, with motor and trailer? Boston Whalers lists the 150 with a weight of 1,390 lbs for hull, motor, fuel. Would 300-lbs be a safe bet for a single axle trailer for a 15-foot boat? I am returning our lease veh...

Re: Concern Over Low Engine Hours

I do not access to non-ethanol fuel. I do run star-tron fuel stabilizer in my tanks.

Re: Concern Over Low Engine Hours

I have purchased a new fuel filter (small filter inside cowling) that I plan on changing after the first run or two in the Spring, once I clear out all the fuel stabilizer and fuel that sat all winter in lines. I did have the water pump and impeller changed. The mechanic said there was a seal that w...

Concern Over Low Engine Hours

Hello all. I recently purchased a 2010 Montauk 150 with a Mercury 60 FOURSTROKE. The boat overall is in mint condition. It was a freshwater lake boat, there was never any bottom paint, and it was always garage kept. The owner had regular receipts of annual oil changes. I had the 60 FOURSTROKE engine...

Re: Accessory Switch Replacement

Thank you for all the replies. I guess my first step is to pull out the accessory switch and take it to the local marine shop to see if they have a matching switch off-on(momentary).

I do like the red cover for the horn switch. I will have to look into that.

Thanks.

Accessory Switch Replacement

[This thread has been moved to SMALL BOAT ELECTRICAL for discussion--jimh] Hello all. I own a 2010 Montauk 150. I want to add a horn on the side of the console. The console has one accessory rocker switch that I’d like to utilize for the horn. The [unused] switch now is ON-OFF but stays in [the] ON-...
