For what it's worth, I would go for the 17 Montauk. It's just easier to handle in my opinion. Where do you live? If Florida and going to sandbars and such, the Montauk is going to be easier to beach and lift off the bar. I used to even take my 150 Montauk 6 or 7 miles off of St Pete Beach to catch K...

I owned a 150 Montauk for about nine years and loved that boat. I had a Mercury 60-HP Bigfoot and it was fast--and reliable, too. That time of year Anna Maria Island is excellent. Clean water, the tarpon are there, the snook are there. You can boat from Ft. Desoto, around Egmont Island, and down to Longboat Key Pass. I've boated all of Florida and to me that's my favorite.
