Re: Variation in Engine Temperature at Idle between Twin Engines

A little more research reveals it may very well be the poppet valve per the shop manual OG960500 and above, Pg 4B-7 , Poppet valve controls water flow at high RPM, If poppet valve is stuck open at low RPM, the engine will not reach the proper operating temperature (run cold), and will run rough at i...

Re: Variation in Engine Temperature at Idle between Twin Engines

The new thermostat lists for $108, Mercury suggested if I remove it check it by placing it in hot water to see if it closes. Not urgent since it runs in normal temperature range 120-125 while in use.

Re: Revenge 25 142-Gallon Fuel Tank Pickup

I finally got a new fuel tank pickup installed after a long delay. The time was consumed in two ways: ⋅ the Philips head screws on pickup plate took a couple of weeks to remove, and four of the eight screws were stripped, I can't imagine it was installed new that way. I had to use penetrat...

Re: Revenge 25 142-Gallon Fuel Tank Pickup

A3: I have run the engine on auxiliary tanks and can get full throttle no problem. A2 and A4: I have changed the fuel-water separator filters, the fuel lines, and (today) the vent line. I checked the vent fitting with compressed air. I don't see a problem with any of those. I probably should run the...
