Re: Montauk 17 Water Collection Sumps
Should I put the plug on the outside of the transom?
Or put the plug where this sump is?

Re: MONTAUK 17: Shallow Water Anchor, Powered Anchor
Follow up: the power-pole mini did not work well for me with the transom clamps. A regular fiberglass stick has been working great with a rope.

Montauk 17 Water Collection Sumps
I am sure to have water [collecting in the areas shown in Figures 1 and 2] is normal, but it is frustrating.
What is this area called?
Is there any way to [stop water from collecting in the unnamed areas shown]?
Thanks

Re: MONTAUK 17: Shallow Water Anchor, Powered Anchor
I have chosen a Micropole that clamps on the back transom. I will update the forum as I customize the boat. I think anglers on the forum will find the results interesting. This is an original Texas boat that loves to fish.

MONTAUK 17: Shallow Water Anchor, Powered Anchor
Give me suggestions [for a powered anchor of the type called a shallow water anchor and later clarified to use in water about two-feet to five-feet deep and suitable] for a 170 Montauk [later clarified to be a classic MONTAUK 17].

Green Laminate Exposed on Keel
I recently bought a 1989 Montauk 17 with big scars on the keel. IMG_9639a.jpg IMG_9640a.jpg Is repair a do-it-yourself project? Or, should I take the boat to a professional for repair? I hope no water has seeped in over the years. Other [than the damage to the keel the boat] is looking great. Thanks...
