Well that’s not quite where I expected this story to end, and I am extremely happy for you and hope the prognosis continues so positive. Welcome to the club no one wants to be in. On the upside, you’ll never be the same person again. You’ll be a better person and you now have an even better idea of ...

Have you considered adopting an older adult? Low maintenance, gets along well with dogs and cats. Fully house trained.

PS really really nice photos of the boat, activities, and a family that clearly loves being together. Thanks for posting.

Jim is spot on: For the love of all things holy, the most recent Outrage with the Yamaha saltwater series AND a trailer is your new boat. Assuming, that is, if you have the vehicle to trailer it and the space to store it. In my albeit limited experience, Yamaha 2 strokes are generally quieter than o...

Very pretty boat. Good comments by everyone. If it’s helpful there are two Whaler Outrage 18 boats of similar style to yours that show up on Facebook marketplace in the Houston TX area. Though one is a dual seat rather than the classic RPS. Not a lot of detailed info but it’s at least a couple data ...

It’s soft and has sideways give that a regular hose doesn’t. Use whatever works for you. I also like that I can store it in a small space.

Re: Pocket Hose Silver Bullet Expanding Hose for Rigging Tunnel Cleaning

The Silver Bullet Expanding Hose flattens out when it’s empty as well as shortening up and is very compact. It has a some sort of fabric covering, Something between a slinky and a fire hose. Diameter when full of water is like a medium garden hose. The hose I bought is 50-feet long. Another aspect i...

Pocket Hose Silver Bullet Expanding Hose for Rigging Tunnel Cleaning

Before running in a new SONAR transducer cable, I wanted to clean debris out of my [boat's] rigging tunnel I found an expanding hose at the local home improvement center called the "Pocket Hose Silver Bullet". The Pocket Hose Silver Bullet hose is nice, flexible, and when it's under pressu...

Since you make fairly long runs, is there any meaningful difference in fuel capacity? Engine efficiency? The other thing I would consider strongly is the layout. Does the [GUARDIAN] have a dive door? I’ve never seen a [GUARDIAN\ but I understand they are more customized so the layout could be really...

Re: Classic Montauk All-round White Lamp Relocaton

The question on my mind about the placement of an anchor light has been whether it might interfere with night vision in the event the light were in front of me. An anchor light is shown when the boat is at anchor, not when it is underway. So there is really no concern about having one's night visio...

Mr Whaler101 Take a look in the classifieds. On the location of the all around white light, all the recent 19/17/15 foot Whalers I see have them mounted on the console amidships. At first I thought it was an odd thing not to be on the transom. Thanks all. Im revising my thoughts thanks to the feedback. 5200 for the riser to deck. Instead of creating a void in the foam immediately under the plywood, I’m going to go with a 1” forstener through the plywood and fill it with 404 thickened epoxy (peanut butter consistency). Maybe a small void i...

Just my two centavos but it depends on what you want. A boat that you can enjoy now or a project. MOST I’d pay is $3,000 and only if I didn’t observe any significant problems. If no problems other than cosmetic, then you can enjoy it for a while and buy mahogany in the off season. Even with the ugly...

If you don’t have a tube cutter, I cut my anchor light pole shorter using a metal blade hacksaw. Cheap pole so it was easy to cut. Put the pole in a vise and cut carefully till you just pierce through the tube a bit. Rotate tube. Cut a bit, repeat. Touch up the sharp edges with fine file, sandpaper,...

Hi Ratking Are you saying that the female and male ends are unscrewing and then the female part falls out of the hole in the cover? That’s how I’m envisioning what the problem is, because that’s the only way the female “barrel” would fall out. Normally the two ends would be screwed firmly together. ...

It's too late now but you could have used T nuts made from stainless on the plywood section you made before you put it back in.
