Re: Caulk Color Match to Desert Tan

I used the OSI Quad #450 Sage color. Great color match to desert tan and the adhesion came out much better this time around. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Caulk Color Match to Desert Tan

{In this post I suggest that the work "chalking" is incorrect and the actual material being discussed in caulking--jimh] Thanks Phil. I actually tried that brand [that is, OSI's Quad MAX] and found the color #450 Sage to be a dead ringer for the Desert Tan. I still have a few tubes of [OSI...

Caulk Color Match to Desert Tan

What is an effective deck sealant or caulk that matches the DesertTan color of the deck?
Most stuff available is white, which stands out too much for me on these old [Boston Whaler boats].

Cheers and thank you

Re: Re-chalking the deck

Hi Phil. Thanks for the advice. I have some 3M4200. I will exchange it for [BoatLife Life Seal Sealant]. Q3: Why is [BoatLife Life Seal Sealant] better [than 3M4200 adhesive for caulking the seam on the deck]? Q4: Does [BoatLife Life Seal Sealant] last longer [than 3M4200]? Q5: [When I seal the] thr...

Outrage 18 Width at Waterline

Q1: [What is] the width of an OUTRAGE 18 at the waterline? My trailer is a narrow. I want to see if I can rig the trailer to have the boat ride lower in the trailer which would put the hull in between the single axle fenders. I could always pad the fenders. Q2: If I measure the width at the transom ...

Making Desert Tan Bottom Paint

To make Desert Tan [anti-fouling] paint, I was thinking to mix a little red and green to get brown, then add a little of the brown to the white to get tan. Compare at: http://www.pettitpaint.com/media/4141/pettit-paint-2019-bottom-paint-color-card.pdf Q1: Has someone else experimented with [creating...

Refurbish Deck Caulking

I just got an OUTRAGE 18, a boat I have always wanted. I have several projects planned to clean up the OUTRAGE. My first project [will be two projects: something unrelated to caulking the deck which needs its own thread] and re-sealing the deck. I've been scraping [out] the old caulking with a knife...
