Illuminated Power Control Switches
Q:1 Because [the an illuminated power switch] does not to illuminate when pressed, that does that the [load controlled by the switch[ is not getting any power?
Q2: Does it mean that the switches actually get their own power?
Q3: [If the switch has power] then why wouldn't the switch illuminate?

Re: 2002 255 CONQUEST Optional Fishing Package
[M]y [2005 255 CONQUEST] boat does have an operating livewell and does have tackle boxes. [My opinion is the boat does] have the Fishing Package option. Q: [What is the] best way to find the pumps? Q: [Can I] just find the hole where the water would pump out and follow the hose? [I will] look for th...

2002 255 CONQUEST Optional Fishing Package
Were pumps for the two fishboxes an option on a 2002 255 CONQUEST? Where would a fish box pump be located? Back story: for my [recently purchased] 2002 255 CONQUEST I bought a new switch panel. I rewired all the switches. On the switch panel on this 2002 255 CONQUEST there is a three-position switch...

The barrel is the piece that cane out. I think they are still in tact. But the barrel has slid out of the fiberglass. Im looking for a good glue to set them back in

Retaining Barrel Nuts in Hatch Covers.
On the fish box hatches on my 255 CONQUEST a bunch of screws are coming out. The receiver beds--not sure of [the nomenclature]--for the screws are coming out. [These fasteners] attach the hinge for the fish box. Would epoxy (or anything else) be strong enough to hold the beds in place? Any help woul...

Re: 255 CONQUEST and 235 CONQUEST Hardtop Dimensions
PhilT--I am pretty sure the beam on my 2002 255 Conquest is 8-feet 6-inches. I know the later model year 255 CONQUESTS at some point have a 8-foot 9-inch beam. This info is just from me looking around online. I could be wrong--just what I read online. I am hoping the 23-foot model with the same beam...

[I have condensed about ten articles into this direct and simple request--jimh] Please give me carefully measured dimensions for the following hardtops: --the OEM hardtop on a 255 CONQUEST that is a 2002 model; [And while you have the measuring tape, give us the BEAM measurement, too--jimh] --the OE...

Re: 255 CONQUEST Re-power
Thanks. My dad’s choice is the F300. My choice is the Suzuki DF350.
Of course [I am] younger and want more speed. But the main focus should be getting the boat on plane quickly.
With either the F300 or DF350 engine I will [expect to] see a [reduction in time to get on plane] from what we have now.

Re: 255 CONQUEST Re-power
I only ask [about the equivalence of the VERADO 300 and the Yamaha F300 engines] because there are performance reports available for the VERADO 300 and a a few other Mercury engines on [255 CONQUEST] hull. [These Boston Whaler performance test results are the] only real world numbers i can find.

Re: 255 CONQUEST Re-power
Interesting. I did not know that about HP ratings. Does that mean i can not get in trouble in any way? With my Insurance company? If i go over 400—I probably will not. I do like the Suzuki 350. My dad likes the Yamaha better. It’s his money. --I laugh aloud-- As for the Yamaha 350, my Yamaha dealer ...

Re: 255 CONQUEST Re-power
A1: the Yamaha F300 is 4.2 liter and has a higher displacement than any engine of its size i think. Suzuki might be up there, too. A2: the Yamaha F350 is the engine with the flywheel problems. I know about it and will stay away from that engine. The F300 is known to be one of the best outboards ever...

Re: 255 conquest repower help?
I have not. We are going to repower regardless. But, I have read all over that people say they are underpowered with 200-HP to even 300-HP on this hull.

255 CONQUEST Re-power
I plan to re-power my 255 CONQUEST. It presently has a Mercury OptiMax 225-HP. To be honest [the boat’s performance is] not bad when it finally gets on plane, but it struggles at times to do so. I may buy a Yamaha F300 which has a greater displacement than the other 300-HP engines. Will there be a s...

Re: 1963 13 Re-power
[W]e used a 30 [HP E-TEC] on a c.1980 [13-foot hull]. [The E-TEC 30] works great. [The E-TEC 30] replaced a [Suzuki DT40]/ Wile the 40 [produced a] faster [boat speed] and a better fit, the four-stroke-power-cycle 40-HP outboard engines are just too heavy [to use ona 1963 13-footer].
