You might have some water in the transom. Water does not necessarily mean you have a rotten transom but it's certainly going to cause a problem in time. Good luck with the REVOLUTION4 propeller. If that doesn't work I think you should describe the height of the motor on the transom in "holes up" or provide a photo of the anti ventilation plate and it's relation to the keel of the boat. There are many here with the experience and know how....

My Nantucket 190 came with a Rule 900. Your 500 seems a little small if it's the only pump.

You could consider keeping the 500 (or buying a new 500) and keeping it on the auto switch and then adding a larger second/backup pump and place it on a manual switch.

My 2004 Nantucket 190 (w/ Mercury 135 Optimax) has a self bailing cockpit. The cockpit continues to self bail even when the bilge area is completely full of water.
