A range of 20 miles with two battery packs seems awfully low. A 50-HP four-stroke-power-cycle engine will burn less than 2-GPH at cruise with about 12-MPG or more. A distance of 20-miles would takes much less than 2-gallons of fuel. Would you be able to charge both battery packs for around $2? If yo...

An additional tank is needed. You can use the same hose and bulb. If you want to strap it to the deck, an additional strapping kit would be needed as well. How far are you going that you would need more than 6gal? My 70hp Suzuki would go like 60+ miles on a single tank at cruise. Might be easier to ...

Boston Whaler made a couple models designed specifically for fly fishing called a CROSS TACKLE. They did not have poling platforms. They did have a custom bow rail that I think allowed you to lean against while casting.
I do not see the need for a poling platform if you have a trolling motor.

There are many reasons why PERKO and others make drain plugs. Most Boston Whaler boats do not self drain and require a plug (or more) while at rest. You can do that. Back in the early 2000's it was much cheaper for me to import a Honda from Canada. Shipping was less than the sales tax I did not have to pay.
There is an Evinrude dealer by me with a new 40-HP for $3,800. A 60-HP for $5300 and a 140-HP G2 for $8200.

That boat was designed to handle twin 120hp outboards which means over 700-lbs [on the transom]. The weight of a 500 to 600-lbs engine should not be a concern.
