Re: Proper Display of Navigation Lights
I was in Marietta, Ohio, for a Sternwheeler rally. At night they had a fireworks display, and scores of boats were anchored in the Muskingum river to enjoy the show. I drove over a bridge to get a closer look at the boats because I couldn't believe what I saw. Almost everyone had their sidelights li...

I was hoping you would get some replies, I have wondered about this myself.

Re: Request for appraisal, 2011 170 Montauk
If you can't get in the boat, even take it for a sea trial (weather is now nice). FORGET IT. Would you spend $24,00 on a car you can't see in-person, get in and go for a test drive? That's my thinking Phil, I haven't been motivated enough to call them to see how they actually handle sales if the cu...

Re: Request for appraisal, 2011 170 Montauk
Who cares what an appraiser says the boat is worth, buy the boat. Thank you for your viewpoint. I asked here because I am not familiar with where the market is right now. I don't want to grossly overpay in case I decide to get rid of it in a couple years. This is a small boat reseller that speciali...

Re: Request for appraisal, 2011 170 Montauk
Thank you for the replies, I'm over 500 miles from this boat so I may never get to look at it. It has no bottom paint and the pics show it's in excellent condition. I will be calling the dealer soon with an update, thanks again. If it started at $40,000, normal depreciation would have brought it dow...

Re: Fell Marine MOB Engine Shut-off
On a forum for Arima boats, a member talked to Fell and was able to get a 15% discount for that boat brand's owners.
It would be nice if FELL MARINE would do that for Boston Whaler owners, too.

ASIDE ON SHUT OFF SWITCH OPERATION In other words, the absence of continuity in the engine shut-off circuit enables the engine to run. Fraudulent Boat-for-sale Offer
You are all probably aware of this but it may save one person a big problem so that's why I'm posting. I answered an ad on Craig's List for a 2014 170 Dauntless for $19,000. The boat was priced under what it should have been, so it looked like a good deal--but one that was not outrageous. I wrote [t...

Re: 130 Super Sport or 150 Montauk For Bay and Inshore Long Island
I owned a 15' Dauntless [that is, a boat that is not the topic of this discussion] with the intention of using it near shore on Lake Erie [that is, a Great Lakewhich is not the body of water in this discussion] off Cleveland Ohio. By near shore I'm talking about no more than four miles. I no longer ...

Milk crate style bins are about 10", depending what you want to put in them, may work.

Re: 1998 DAUNTLESS 15 or 1977 SPORT 15
I had a 15 Dauntless, 1995 or so and it was not really suitable for Lake Erie, one of the places I used it. It was fine on the small lakes like Mosquito Creek Reservoir but when the big lake got a little choppy I had to come back in. I'm just mentioning this incase you plan to use it on a bigger bod...
