Re: SPORT 15 with Suzuki DF60a Performance Data
[As seen in Figure 1 above the SUZUKI DF60a engine] looks big or oversized on the transom of the SPORT 15.
Q1: how does the size of SUZUKI DF60a compare to the YAMAHA F70?

Re: 1986 Outrage 18 Drain Plugs when docked?
I have the same boat. If you leave the boat in the water unattended for long periods, you need an [electric] pump in the sump, and maybe a second one in the transom. Otherwise the rainwater will fill up inside the hull and possibly get into the under deck fuel tank. Consider a solar charger to keep ...

Re: sump drain on outrage 18
When the boat is on the lift, make sure the boat a slight bow-high attitude.
My Outage 18 on its lift this way drains rainwater out the sump with the plug out; no bilge pump is installed.
I also keep the center drain in the engine splash well unplugged when the boat is on the lift.

Hi Don. Can you post a picture of your old escutcheon? I am curious if it looks like [the one from my 1986 Outrage 18 which is clearly mentioned in the caption in the prior post--jimh].

I don’t know what happened to the other half. I am willing to use this as a template to 3D-print a new one.

Remove Mechanical Cable Steering, Single Cable Drive
I am removing [the single cable mechanical cable] steering gear from my 1977 Sport to refinish the wood. I believe this is the original, non-hydraulic steering. DEC1FA1A-0F63-4592-9CBA-3DF524BBE237.jpeg I can’t figure out how to remove the steering cable from where it attaches to the worm gear or dr...

Re: Time for drain tubes
The tubing is 1.25-inches (diameter) for the three stern drain tubes. The other two (in the sump at the aft starboard end of the internal fuel tank and in the bow anchor locker) are both 1-inch.
I am not sure on their length, but none is longer than 12 inches and more likely 3 to 5-inches.

A few tablespoons of Borax in about 2 litres of warm water will remove most mildew stains and, as a bonus, help to prevent them coming back.

Re: 1973 Outrage 21 Re-power
I was thinking of repowering my 1972 Outrage 21 Ribside with an E-TEC 135 H.O. Apparently similar power to the 150 but costs much less. I'm not pulling any skiers and don't care much about top speed. One thing I do care about is how the motor looks in proportion to the boat. I installed a F150 on my...

Re: 1980's Outrage 18 Cover
I just ordered a cover from Carver for my 1986 Outrage 18. I am expecting delivery next week. I also have a Mills mooring cover original to the boat and still in good condition. The reason I ordered the Carver cover is that from time to time I need to store the boat on a lift unattended for some wee...
