I couldn't find anything about the rescue in 1951 either. What it does say is that the Ille De France was an exceptional ship when you consider the three rescues we know about.

We snowbird at a cottage on a canal off of Weeks Bay. It’s an old cottage at ground level, not on stilts. I saw that the Fish River hit about 23’, which is 10’ over flood stage. I don’t want to call our landlady she has enough on her mind. In any case I doubt we’ll be going back there anytime soon.

I am really impressed with Marine Parts Depot. I asked for the part on Saturday, on Easter Weekend, and got the part on Wednesday. I used up one hacksaw blade in cutting the stainless steel rod to the correct length.

Just to close out this thread, for this year anyway. I didn't get a chance to make a run out to the Oriskany for a bunch of reasons: lousy weather, Alabama DNR closed the Boggy Point Ramp for repairs, more lousy weather, and I ran out of time.

In the Northern Indiana market pontoons dominate, and they were almost all that was on the upper showroom. I would add that Northern Indiana is loaded with boat manufacturers; Brunswick's main plant for their multiple lines of pontoons is in Fort Wayne.

Those pictures were taken at the 2019 Fort Wayne Boat Show (and Sale). The dealer is a old time small dealer on Lake Wawasee in Northern Indiana. Their booth was in the lower floor and had a lot of pillars in the way of picture views of the other couple of boats on display, all equally expensive.

I think Lockman's is what a dealer should be. We've been to several continuousWave get-togethers at Lockman's. I can't say enough good things about them. If you're within a couple of hundred miles of them, it's worth the drive to get the care you deserve.

I still use the Lakemaster Michigan chart SD in my, now ancient, Lowrance XOG portable GPS/chartplotters. They were fabulous map cards because they not only showed water features in great detail but they also had all land roads, even two-track ORV trails.
