Thank you for your responses! Since mine had them originally, I must have filled in the dimples or holes-the whole thing was a holey mess prior to painting. I will drill impressions and fill with sealant. Thanks again

13-footer: Replacing Bow Eye and Lifting Eyes
On my 1984 13-footer I am replacing all stainless steel hardware. The new stern lifting eyes I bought have locating pins on the back side that bear against the transom. I am afraid to tighten the lifting eyes so they penetrate into the gel coat. Q1: should I drill a relief in the gel coat for the lo...
