Electric trailer winch

Gentleman,
Does anyone have any suggestions on 12 volt trailer winches for a 17' Currituck trailer? It has a 70 hp Johnson that adds another 238 lbs. The ramp I use is around a 25% grade angle. Harbor freight winches? Cranking this thing on is getting old. Thanks!

1983 Johnson 70-HP, Alternator Voltage Regulation, non-OEM replacement

Gentleman--I have a 1983 Johnson 70-HP outboard engine [whose alternator] is putting out [a charging output of] upwards of 17-volts [when the engine is] running fast. Do readers have experience with the CDI 193-3408 regulated rectifier? I would like to try it, but I've had a bad experience not using...

Re: Hull Bottom Profile Has Hook in Early 13-foot Boats

You gentlemen have certainly covered this topic in the past. My boat had no tendency to porpoise or pound after I changed the bottom shape. It did skid in turns more. Weight balance was important. I understand the reasoning of the additional outboard engine anti-ventilation plate fin attachments but...

Hull Bottom Profile Has Hook in Early 13-foot Boats

On the 1967 13-foot Boston Whaler boat I had, I revised the bottom shape aft. [The hull bottom] had two molded-in fin keels that I cut down. The center keel was straight near the transom, but there were concavities port and starboard creating a natural trim tab to the whole transom, good for pushing...

Re: New to Forum but old Whaler fan

Gentlemen, The deck/camper idea came from my wife and I cruising with the 13' boat. We started by setting up tent posts and a tarp for our little cruising adventures. Then I thought there had to be a better way. So I worked out a full size foam model that I then covered with fiberglass. "Backwa...

New to Forum but old Whaler fan

Gentlmen--I have been a fan of Mr. Fisher's and Mr. Hunt's creation for 60-odd years. The first 13-footer I bought while working at a dealer in Stratford, Connecticut. The second one I got from the factory while David Loveless was in charge. I was unaware of this site only until recently. It is a re...
