FS: Montauk bow chock and light assemblies, other hardware

For sale are two montauk bow chock-light assemblies, and one set of lifting eyes. I don’t know that the lifting eyes are salvageable but the bow chock assemblies should be and refinish nicely. $50 plus shipping. Email me for pictures, johnwesleywallace@gmail.com To clarify, as I have received a few ...

Re: Montauk 17 Value Range

I just sold a 1986 Montauk with a 2002 Yamaha 90 2 stroke with low hours and verified good compression for $9,500.00. I would not call the boat pristine by any means, but a solid, well cared for example with typical crazing, bumps and bruises you would expect of a 32 year old hull. The trailer was t...

Re: Appraisal: 1984 17 Guardian

I just sold a 1986 Montauk with 2002 Yamaha 2 stroke for 9.5k in Florida.

It’s hard to tell from these pictures how my boat compared in terms of condition, but it was pretty good. I was pleased with the price I got for it. I would place this one at around 6-8 simply because of the power.

Re: WTB: Combined Sidelight and Chock

FYI the combined sidelight/chock sold by Boston Whaler currently for the Montauk is of inferior design to the original, so there may or may not be a problem if you went through Boston Whaler. The concern with the combined sidelight/chock for the Montauk is that the wire lead to the bulb fixture inte...

Re: PERKO Electric Lamp Components for Classic Sidelights on MONTAUK

I just spoke with Sue. She advises that the original bow chock/combined sidelight assembly used on a 1986 Montauk is still available from Boston Whaler. It is chrome plated brass. They also sell a slightly different version, made of stainless steel, that was redesigned to fit over the two piece rubr...

PERKO Electric Lamp Components for Classic Sidelights on MONTAUK

I am trying to replace the [lamp for the combined sidelights] on my Montauk. One contact in this assembly was actually m...

I've tried searching but can't seem to find a topic specific to refinishing a reversible pilot seat. I have a 1986 Montauk and am trying to get her back in shape. Re: Anchor for 15-footer

You probably know this, but be sure to use a significant length of chain. Some say the chain is more important than the anchor itself. I use a relatively small anchor on my 17, with about 12 feet of chain. This is around Mayport, which experiences significant title flows.

Dave, you seriously strap a divers knife to your leg??? Divers don't even use them anymore, unless they got certified last week. At least the ones that actually go in the water vs. watching old Seahunt reruns. A sharp knife is understandable and makes some sense for some situations but a divers kni...
