Re: Alaskan Squall still drying out

Your Boston Whaler Squall is rapidly approaching the desired original dry weight of 125 pounds.
It reminds me of a friend that said that she was trying to get back to her original weight of 6 pounds 3 ounces.

Good luck

Bill

Re: WTB: c.1995 GUARDIAN 17, California Area

In the 1980's there were two commercial Boston Whaler hulls that shared the name GUARDIAN 17. I am looking for a 17-foot 3-inch GUARDIAN with the V-hull similar to the Outrage 17, rather than a 16-foot 7-inch Montauk tri-hull version of the GUARDIAN. https://continuouswave.com/forum/download/file.ph...

Re: GUARDIAN 17

Phil--Thank you very much for that information. I was not certain what years a GUARDIAN 17 boat was produced. I have owned several Boston Whaler Guardians--17, 19, and 22-footers--and the 17 was my favorite. guardian17.jpeg I hope to locate my old boat or purchase one of its siblings. All the very b...

A Prop-Guard could be the solution that he is looking for.
Thank you for researching these protective prop cages.

Jim & Jeff

Thank you both very much for your responses. They were very helpful.
I will forward your comments and suggestions to my friend who owns the Boston Whaler Super Sport 15.
He can then decide how he would like to proceed with the outboard motor selection on his boat.

Jet-Drive Outboard for SUPER SPORT 15

A good friend is restoring his 1987 Boston Whaler Super Sport 15. The boats capacity is 1,055-lbs of persons, engine, and gear. The maximum capacity for the motor is 70-HP. My friend has two teenage daughters who will be making use of the boat. For added safety he would like to use a jet-drive outbo...

I have a copy of your book "Unsinkable, The History of Boston Whaler".
I really enjoyed reading it.

It is very generous of you to offer to send Bradley Vickers a copy.

Re: Boston Whaler Survives Mud Slide in California

Jim--you are absolutely correct. Hank and I looked over every component on Bradley's Montauk making him aware of items that we felt were salvageable. We gave him our estimate of their value and suggested that he remove them from the boat and post them on "Continuouswave" and "Craigsli...

Re: Boston Whaler Survives Mud Slide in California

It is sad to see any Boston Whaler cut up and thrown away, but the hull integrity of Bradley's boat was badly compromised. A closer inspection revealed structural damage that extended from the outer hull to the inner decks. Boating safety is a high priority. If we repaired the visible damage to the ...

Re: Boston Whaler Survives Mud Slide in California

At Bradley's request my fishing partner, Hank Goebel, and I inspected his Boston Whaler Montauk 17' on Saturday. We all agreed that boats are material objects that can be replaced. What is important is that Bradley and his wonderful family were not harmed in this tragic mudslide. For that we are all...

Re: Pre-boating Checklist

Jim--when I take my Boston Whaler out for a day on the water I always wear my RED) Boston Whaler T-shirt. That way if it warms up and I feel the need to take off my (RED) Boston Whaler" sweatshirt I am still proudly showing my brand loyalty to the Unsinkable Legend. If Boston Whaler produced an...

Re: Pre-boating Checklist

Fellow boaters--What prompted me to compile that boating check list was a false start to a fishing trip. My fishing buddy and I launched my boat only to discover that the key was not in the ignition. I chose to drive home and retrieve the key rather than climb under the helm and hot wire the boats i...

Re: Whalers at Auctions

A good source for retired government boats is the GSA (Government Surplus Auction) They frequently post auctions with Boston Whalers from the Navy, Parks Department, and Coast Guard. https://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/gsaauctions/ "Bar None Auctions" is auctioning off a Boston Whaler Gua...

Re: Replacement Value of Restored 1995 Sentry 19ft

I currently own a 1998 Boston Whaler Sentry 19', and previously owned a 1993 Boston Whaler Sentry 22'. In my opinion the Sentry model is a rare find and well worth waiting for. The cost of replacement is difficult to calculate. As mentioned before they are no longer manufactured by Brunswick the com...
