That is a horrible estimate. Knuckleheads.

It is $400-$600 in materials to rig up an extension cord and an outlet on the console and add a hinged section to the rail.

The Karavan trailer that comes standard with the small Whaler models is the economy model. They don't hold up very well.

I would prefer to look at Rocket or Load Rite brands.

I don't completely disagree with your comments as I too had similar experiences.

Somewhere the world got confused on the word self bailing and self draining

Many owners new to Whalers expect the boat to be totally dry when you pull the plug.

look at the feasibility of hinging the console so you don't need to sacrifice the windscreen/rail.

How much clearance is there at high water?

If it really is tight, the 15' Sport or 17 Standard or Super Sport is going to be your only option.

The Robertson fastener is commonly referred to as the square bit screw by the trade guys in the States.

The Ventura 210 is a different model completely. It is a beast and a tank.

I would not use that as it is exacerbating the possibility of striking the ground at a curb cut or grade change.

A 2x4 block of wood between the bracket and the outboard has worked for me for 20 years.

I have never heard of this type of frequent failure of a new Rule pump.

The pump is not being installed properly.

The wiring must be done properly and the splicing must include watertight connections such as heat shrink butt connectors.

See the instructions with the pump.

I have always wanted a classic Morse control with the red ball--the authentic one, not the cheaper imitations.

They shift so smoothly and neutral is really there--no vagueness.

You loose a fair amount of speed due to the inefficiency of the jet. You may need a 50hp or more to get the same speed as a 40hp.

After reading your post and a good night sleep, I think you should upgrade the propeller to the Yamaha painted stainless steel model in 13 x 17. It will not need to be replaced if you hit a buoy or debris. The boat will perform better at all speeds. Just be happy you don't need an Enertia propeller ...
