Re: 1997 17' Outrage II Water in Fuel problems
Have you tried running the engine on a portable 6 gallon style fuel tank yet? That would be my next step before anything.

Re: Wire Rope Steering Locked-up
I had a 13-footer with [wire rope and] pulley steering.
Many people remove these helms to update the steering to a Teleflex-type mechanical cable system.
If you can not loosen up the helm, you may be able to find a used helm for sale.

Does that trailer have roller bunks on it. It's hard to tell but looks like it does. If it does I would remove them and change them to a carpeted bunks. It's not recommended to store a whaler on a roller trailer. Enjoy the boat.

Re: Buying My First Boston Whaler
You might want to bring a spare hub for the trailer and make sure you have a spare tire. That's a long ride for a trailer that you don't know the condition of the tires or hubs.

That's a very nice hatch and I like the hinge design.
Is that hatch solid wood or a type of plywood?
I can't see the edge clear enough to see any plies.

Re: Sport 15 Making Replacement Anchor Locker Hatch Cover
I had a 1970s vintage SPORT 13. Although the console, the middle thwart, and the rear thwart were all nice mahogany, the bow hatch was plywood, and it did not hold up nearly as well as the solid wood. I eventually built a new hatch out of solid teak with no joints. I gave it a varnish finish, and it...

I have a Raymarine DRAGONFLY. In shallow water the SONAR screen seems to be overly noisy. Q1: is [on-screen noise in the SONAR display] because the water I usually travel in is quite silty? Re: Extending Trailer Tongue
I have added a swing tongue to my trailer but have not lengthened the tongue. Adding additional tongue length can be easily done by buying some suitably sized tongue material and drilling new holes for the hitch coupler as well as the trailer tongue hinge. You may have to lengthen the trailer light ...

It's too late now but you could have used T nuts made from stainless on the plywood section you made before you put it back in.

Buy plastic or brass tubing that just fits through the holes; glue in tubing. The foam is protected and you still have drains.

The 9.9 was easy to pull start and I don't think a 13 year old would have any problem starting it as long as the engine is in good shape. The 20 I had required way more strength.

I had a SPORT 13 of that [c.1979] vintage for 30 years. The boat initially had a 25-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine with electric start and side console cable steering. Good engine choice. I sold the 25-HP and bought a 9.9-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine so I could operate on a local lake with 10-...

I bought a complete 9-Ampere conversion kit made by Mercury-Quicksilver. The kit was manufactured in 2006. The regulator-rectifier looks to be the same design as the CDI units but there is no schematic to compare. If it fails I will replace with a CDI unit in the future.

I have a 1987 Montauk with a 1987 Mercury 70-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine. This particular engine only has a rectifier that converts the stator output to DC. I had a similar problem on my 1987 Montauk replacing my twin 6-gallon steel tanks with a new Moeller tank that was supposed to be a direct fit.
