Check with the OEM manufacturer of the seat for a custom-fit cushion. Boston Whaler often used seats made by SPRINGFIELD.

BOB--on many OEM installations I notice the fuel hose primer bulb is located close to the engine. Retaining it there on your rigging was a good decision.

DAVE--I like the construction of that home-made rail-mount for a down rigger base. I think those brass fittings must be fairly standard pipe fittings. They look like the supports used to hold the railings on early Boston Whaler boats.

Maybe the checksum was missing or wrong from the simulator. Some NMEA-0183 devices may be lax about the checksum in a sentence, and others may be strict. The radio might have been ignoring sentences with bad checksums.

To get a lower self-discharge rate the battery needs to be made with ultra-high-purity lead. That is the factor that enhances a low self-discharge rate, not the method of construction. A few AGM batteries do use ultra-high-purity lead, but not every AGM battery does.

The ICOM M323 radio may be very particular about which NMEA-0183 sentence it must receive in order be provided with time and position information.
