2007 190 Montauk Aft Deck Drain
I have a 2007 190 Montauk and the aft deck never drains properly. I see the newer models have changed the drains to the back of the deck not the sides by the rear seat. I was thinking of putting in two or four Perko 1/2-inch drains in the rear below access doors. They are nylon and was going to cut ...

190 Montauk 2007 Horn Replacement
Any better horns available for [a 2007 Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK] now? [The original horn] never worked long, then on-and-off with sick sounds. [Have there been] any improvement in horns in the last ten years? Saltwater use. Thanks

Re: Epoxy Barrier Coat
As the project goes, the worst is over. I used Peel-Away to soften paint and it was two days work. Sanding off [all of the bottom paint] would be the worst [approach] in my opinion. You paint on Peel-Away thickly with a brush and cover it with paper. They supply paper. I ran out so I used freezer pa...

Epoxy Barrier Coat
I have a 2007 190 Montauk with 10-years of bottom paint on it. Time has come to remove it all. [The 2007 Boston Whaler 190 MONTAUK boat] is on jack stands this evening. Two hours of sanding has left one side 60-percent-complete--a messy dirty job. West Systems and Interlux make barrier coats. Which ...

Re: Mercury 90 Fourstroke: Increasing Power
I'm inclined to believe the engines available on new Boston Whaler boats is determined almost exclusively by the marketing and engineering departments at Boston Whaler. Engineers, not attorneys determine the appropriate power ranges for the boats with the caveat that the engines selected must be av...

I find 3M cleaner wax good for stubborn spots after I wash it. I even use a foam pad om a porter cable random orbital.

Re: 21 REVENGE with Mercury 115-HP FOURSTROKE
That is a lot better performance than my 2007 190 Montauk with a 2007 115-HP and bottom paint. It never hit 40-MPH--38 maybe in neutral water with no tides or wind. Two people [brings] down [the maximum boat speed] to 36-MPH or so. Fuel full then it drops further.

It is a little of everything and a huge toy for people with money or multiple boats. There is nothing like it. I'd order one but gas is to expensive at the moment. --I laugh aloud--

Re: 2007 Mercury 115-HP Cable Rigging Grommet Comes Out
Thanks guys. It is wrapped for the winter now. The rigging was done by Boston Whaler at the factory. I think it usually gets messed up when motor is trimmed up. I did try some cable ties on exterior around grommet. Also I will look at the interior more closely in Spring. Maybe the ridges on the grom...

2007 Mercury 115-HP Cable Rigging Grommet Comes Out
I have a 2007 Mercury 115-HP outboard engine on my 190 Montauk. Where the [rigging] cables exit the lower motor housing through the molded rubber plug [grommet], the plug [grommet] it is always coming halfway out. Are there any tricks to make it work better? Thanks.

2007 MONTAUK Rub Rail Color Restoration
My 2007 Montauk rub rail has a few spots or section about 12-inches on transom that are not really black. The rest of the rub rail looks good. I use 303 Protectant on it, and I have tried Back to Black by Meguiars.
Is there any way other way to treat [the sections that do not look black]?
Thanks

Does any horn work on a boat for a decent length of time? I want to upgrade the horn on my 2007 19 Montauk. The OEM horn works on occasion and squeaks others. Thanks
