I have only prepared for fresh water bladder. Installed water filler where oil tank fill was and ran wire from the accessory switch. Kind of an odd space so taking my time.

Got boat back today. What a difference a ETEC G2 makes. Quieter all around and shift is like silk. We have 15 mph winds today, 2-3ft whitecaps in bay but I went back in the bayous and she was cruising at 37 mph GPS and getting 5.8 mpg. The trim tabs that Boston Whaler recommends for this boat 9"...

Replacement Gauges for SmartCraft

I will have 2 holes in the console of where the SmartCraft gauges were originally. I am thinking I would like to install a RPM and a Speed gauge in their place. I will have NEMA 2000 network. Has anyone seen simple RPM and Speedo Nema 2000 gauges that would fit?

Struck a deal today for the ETEC G2 Re-Power. I was able to get a 10 year warranty. They are also installing a Garmin 1042xsv, CV51TM, 9"x9" trim tabs, extra fuel separator and a flush kit that can be used at our dock boat lift.

As I stated I could not find any actual raw fuel. I just got back from dealer and after extensive tests no leaks were found. Thanks Jim. Your 100% right about not leaving gas in the fill tube. I open the sending unit hatch and fill up until the tank is almost full. You can easily see with a flashlight were the tank level is. I have read that with plastic molded tanks sometimes smell seeps thru. I did check all hose clamps...

For the record I installed a 800 Bait Sentry and Bronze Shut off valve. I also replaced the 2amp breaker with a Blue Seas 5amp as directions indicated. Got plenty of pressure in the well and my plan is to install a two way valve in line and put a raw water spray hose in engine well. M IMG_0718.JPG

So where does one find the MSRP prices for ETEC G2 outboards and accessories.

I also read that during re-power that the ETEC motor should be mounted in the 2nd transom hole. This is a standard 25" motor, not a 20" correct?

No Worries. Actually the dealership is the only one within 90 miles I would work with anyway. Had other problems with others. Been a customer of this dealership since 1978. Really just was hoping to get an idea what other members paid to re-power.

Also the inline valve is plastic from the bronze thru hull. It does not work, just slips, does not open all the way, and does not close all the way--replacing with a bronze ball valve. Why did Boston Whaler use plastic on thru-hull rigging? All the boats I have owned always used bronze. Pretty cheap...

Exactly how I tested it. On the bench it did the same thing. I figure a bait well pump lasting 14 years is good.

Is there something I am overlooking by going to a Bait Sentry 800 instead of the Bait Sentry 500?
