Lighter is most likely teak. Both teak and mahogany change colors over time (bleach out) and will look different depending on what was applied to them or is applied to them, such a oil, varnish, varnish with a hue, clear epoxy, and so on.

I would check Uship or Uship4less; they offer good rates. I had friends that used them for cars and boats.

Are you using a moving company for your household goods? Sometimes they are willing to put trailer and boat (if they fit) in their trucks.

Make sure you have those holes sealed of preventing water from entering your transom.
After testing replace that aluminum prop with a stainless one using any prop selector found on the internet. Higher RPM = lower pitch.

It could have been insect excrement and Bar Keepers Friend will always do the trick with minimal damage. Rust as mentioned always a possibility.

Sad truly sad for all parties involved. It shows again how important lookout is. It sounds like the pilot hit the buoy and the woman and boy were thrown overboard from the impact and badly hurt because of it.
