Assuming the sway is because of light tongue weight, The boat needs to move forward on the trailer or the axles need to go rear ward. Or put a few cases of beer in the bow of the boat. I would try to move the winch stand a head 6" and see how it behaves.

You want 7-10% of the tow weight on the hitch of the tow vehicle.

The lifting harness that came with my 1969 13' is put together like the drawing in the reference section with the exception of the 2 short cables are 60" long and the single cable is 96" long.

I have not used the harness my self.

In a pinch a pair of needle nose pliers will open that type of fuel fill cap. A nose in each hole and turn the handles.

According to Matt Plunkett's book "Unsinkable" Whaler is still using Searay's 5 axis router to make the plugs for new molds.

I think the 2018 Montauks look good. If Whaler follows the theme, the 2018 190 Montauk will be the new and improved Outrage 18/19. Add an Evinrude G2 engine and that would be a very good thing.--Con

Good question. I put mine on the inside of the transom and try to remember not to come off plane to fast. If I were in rougher water I would plug the bulk head splash well and leave the transom open to drain.

My winter project will be to fill the transom notch for a long shaft engine.

There may have been a little cover for the sump when the boats came from the factory. Mine looks like yours with no cover that I've ever had.

Pete, you caught me with an old guy's bad memory. Had to go to the barn and look at mine.

My fuel line and bilge pump are hung under the coaming but to the inside edge. My steering is just laying over the splash well.

The sand from the dredging is pumped onto a beach about a 1/4 mile to the south west. It is nice clean sand. In a year or two the sand is back at the harbor mouth.

My numb winter brain is thinking that that is ambiguous and improper instruction. Boats have port and starboard sides but I don't think docks do.
