Jim, I am not sure about this device having [NMEA-1083], as I have installed a [NMEA-2000 network] on my boat I am purchasing this unit to make the most of my system including the gauge display.
I will investigate a little more to ck out if this Garmin has [NMEA-0183].
Thks,
Fred

Garmin Echo 94 SV to NMEA-0183 Autopilot
I have the older Raymarine S-1000 Autopilot which is working perfectly and uses the older NMEA-0183 system which is connected to my Standard Horizon C 300 GPS which is also NMEA-0183. Re: 190 MONTAUK with 115-HP is Under-power
Back in 2008 I purchased a brand new 190 Montauk [with 115-HP] and quite frankly I almost cried the first time I took her out. Mind you I was 56-years-old and not a speed freak or skier. I only wanted to cruise and occasionally fish. I found this boat to be quite under-powered for my tastes. I sold ...

I owned a 1985 15 SS and purchased a 12 Gal underseat fiberglass fuel tank that fit perfectly under the drivers seat. It was made by Pate Plastics in Miami, about $200 back in 85, unfortunately they went out of business when the ethanol fuel came out and screwed up their gas tanks. Sad!

Now if Evinrude would only do the same thing on their smaller outboards instead of only having a choice of blue that would entice me to buy one as a kicker to match my white E-Tec. I really don't understand their marketing strategy on smaller outboards.

I thought about the 170 but it's just a tad to heavy to tow with my wife's Rav-4. The reason for the down size is also to get rid of my pick up truck for the 190. Afraid of hitting any wiring? I'd be scared s---less of drilling into the side of a perfectly good boat with such a narrow and solid gunwale. I'd rather attach a rod holder to the piping next to the seat then drill a hole in the side. And you have to drill at an angle which makes it more complicated...
